¿Está preparado el Insurgente para un terremoto?

Resumen

Después de la tragedia de la Línea 12, diversos estudios fueron realizados en estructuras ferroviarias del metro de la Ciudad de México para verificar su seguridad. Algunas hipótesis apuntan a que las posibles causas del derrumbe fueron los daños estructurales que debilitaron la unión de las vigas horizontales (trabes), consecuencia de los sismos de 2017. Ante la reciente inauguración del Tren Interurbano México-Toluca, el Insurgente, es de suma importancia estar alertas y evaluar la seguridad de este medio de transporte. Utilizar las nuevas herramientas digitales con las que contamos podría ser una forma rápida, segura y efectiva de lograr proyecciones en la prevención y acción en caso de que un fenómeno natural de este tipo ocurra nuevamente. 

After the Line 12 tragedy, several studies were carried out in railway structures of the Mexico City subway to verify their safety. Some hypotheses point to the fact that the possible causes of the collapse were structural damages that weakened the union of the horizontal beams, a consequence of the 2017 earthquakes. In view of the recent inauguration of the Mexico-Toluca Intercity Train, the Insurgente, it is of utmost importance to be alert and evaluate the safety of this means of transportation. Using the new digital tools we have could be a fast, safe and effective way to achieve projections in prevention and action in case a natural phenomenon of this type occurs again.
